Ali Brassel Photography Branding

Ali Brassel is a wildly talented local photographer who captures weddings, families, seniors, and the cutest babies. When she reached out to me about a rebrand, I was so excited to work with her to create a brand that would reflect the incredible work she does.

The first step was creating a mood board based on the initial consultation with Ali. Ali wanted her clients to feel like their lives were being captured in a natural, joyful way - which is exactly what Ali does! After poring over her portfolio and the photos she creates for her clients, I developed a palette of neutrals, supported by imagery of fresh florals, watercolor, and calligraphy.

From there, I developed a few lettering styles to let Ali choose which direction she was leaning towards. She had initially hired me because she was drawn to a hand-drawn logo, and she chose a broader, brush-painted style. After identifying the type of lettering, I created logo samples based on our consultation and feedback. She was interested in incorporating natural, hand drawn elements (leaves, trees, flowers, etc) as well as a soft watercolor look.

The logo that was ultimately chosen is a hand-painted spectrum of soft, natural greens. It perfectly reflects Ali’s photography style and ties into her fresh, joyful, and natural brand!
