Join us Tuesday, March 5 at 7 pm at Craft Central for Beginner Modern Calligraphy Workshop!

When I first started creating my workshop curriculum and handouts, I made a huge list of all of the things that I wish I knew when I was first learning calligraphy. As a self-taught (turned professional) calligrapher, I know how overwhelming it can be to navigate the world of calligraphy. What supplies do I buy? How do I make letters? How do I make it not look shaky? Am I doing this right?

In this two hour workshop, all of the guesswork is taken out of learning calligraphy. All supplies are provided (and they’re the ones that I use in my professional calligraphy business today!). You’ll go home with two nibs, a beautiful pen holder, a pencil, a cleaning cloth, and a box to keep it all together. You’ll also receive a fifteen page packet that covers everything a beginner needs to know about calligraphy, complete with drills and practice pages. A PDF of the workshop packet will be emailed after the event, so that you can print and practice to your heart’s content.

This workshop is hands on and tailored to you so that you can learn, practice, and grow in your calligraphy skills. Class size is limited to 15 so that you can receive personalized instruction and demonstration. This class is designed for beginners, but all levels are welcomed. There is absolutely no prior experience (or even good handwriting!) necessary. All ages are welcome (up to the parents’ discretion), but we ask that any student under the age of 14 have a parent present with them.

My job as your instructor is to help you confidently learn calligraphy and build the foundation for a beautiful and rewarding skill. I hope to see you at Craft Central on Tuesday, March 5th!
